Maddy & Cooper

Here are two of my best friends... Maddy is a 1 1/2 year old pit bull. Her brother, Cooper, is a month younger. Cooper is an American Bulldog/Boxer mix. We got Maddy after we had picked Cooper out, but a week before we brought him home, so they have grown up together. They are perfectly suited to each other and to other dogs, the pair is often too much to handle.

Maddy has a personal life mission to convince the world that pit bulls are super sweet dogs. She is one of the most friendly dogs ever. She "roo's" at everyone until they pay attention to her and that tail never stops wagging. She's never met a person or a dog that she didn't like and the idea someone might not want to see her is beyond comphrension. Maddy must always sleep ON someone. Preferably on or right snuggled next to someone's head. If you lie down, she will often lie right on top of you. (Maddy weighs 60 lbs) She loves her big brother Cooper and doesn't like to be away from him for long... even though she things he can be a bit crabby at times.

Cooper is top dog around here. He was diagnosed at age one with very severe hip dysplasia... so until he can get his hip replacement, he is taking the easy life. He has never even taken a nap on the floor. He prefers cushions and pillows. At a tall 80 lbs, Cooper takes up most of the bed at night and we had to get a bigger couch as he grew because the old one couldn't handle him. Cooper doesn't like to be messed with when he's sleeping... but Maddy is never intimidated. She snuggles up with him like she does with everyone else. Cooper is obsessed with food and doesn't understand the concept of chewing. If he sneaks a bite off your plate, its bound to be a chicken leg, swallowed whole. We haven't found a food Cooper will turn down. He even loves the vet office because they give him treats.
