Herbal Dog Foods can help Prevent Canine Flu

If you ever wondered if dogs can get the flu, you can stop wondering!  Dogs can get the flu.  The canine flu is similar to the human form in that it is a highly infectious virus that can cause serious problems for your dog.

There are two forms of canine flu that have different degrees of symptoms.  There is the mild form of canine flu that consists of more respiratory systems, such as:  coughing, runny nose with thick, green discharge.  The more severe form of canine flu consists of symptoms, such as:  high fever and pneumonia symptoms.
How does a Dog get Canine Flu?
Your dog cannot get the canine flu from you.  Canine flu is highly contagious and your dog can get the canine flu through contact with other infected dogs or by chewing a dog’s bone or toy that has been infected.
The Key is in Prevention
There currently is no immunization for the canine flu.  Every dog is at risk.  Therefore, it is important to keep your dog healthy.  All natural healthy dog foods are the best way to ensure that your dog will receive the vitamins and minerals necessary for a healthy body.
Healthy dog foods, such as Flint River Ranch or Life’s Abundance, are an excellent source to help boost your dog’s immunity that will help him fight against serious diseases, such as the canine flu.
Treating Canine Flu
Unfortunately, your dog can still get the flu even if you feed your dog healthy dog foods that contain the vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, etc that your dog needs to fight off disease.  Therefore, it may be necessary to care for your dog with canine flu.
The first sign of the flu is usually coughing.  Once he has the flu, the best thing to do is to love and care for your dog.  Be sure your dog has plenty of fresh water, has healthy dog food, and is kept warm and calm.
If your dog gets green discharge, this is a sign of a bacterial infection.  This is not the actual flu, as the flu is a virus.  However, because your dog’s immune system has been weakened by the flu, bacterial infections can begin. Call your veterinarian.  The vet will have broad spectrum antibiotics that can help to fight against the bacterial part of the flu.
If your dog sets into the severe form of canine flu, make sure he stays well hydrated.  This will help to combat a major pneumonia infection after the flu has cleared.
Add in Natural Dog Supplements for Extra Protection
Prevention is the key to ensuring your dog does not catch the canine flu.  Supplement your dog’s all natural diet with vitamins, such as Life’s Abundance Wellness Food Supplements for Dogs.  They are chewable and dogs just love them.
There are other all natural treatments you can do for your dog; however, some human foods can be fatal to dogs.  It is recommended that you talk to your veterinarian before you try something other than natural dog foods or natural dog supplements.
