All Natural Moist Healthy Cat Food helps with Urinary Crystals

Most people tend to feed their cats dry cat food.  If you are one of them, you could be contributing to feline urinary crystals.  Even if you are feeding your cat an all natural healthy cat food that is dry, your cat could still be at risk.  This is especially true if your cat is prone to bladder problems.

What are Urinary Crystals?
Urinary crystals occur when there is an imbalance in the pH of your cat’s urine.  Excess amount of minerals in your cat’s bladder are where crystals will form.  Urinary crystals found in the bladder can cause alterations in the bladder and could develop into painful stones.
Prevention is the Best Medicine
If your cat has not shown signs of urinary crystals, then you will want to prevent them from happening.  If your cat has had urinary crystals, you likely understand the pain they can cause your cat.  Preventing them in the first place or from happening again is important.
The Secret is Moist All Natural Healthy Cat Food If you have not switched to an all natural cat food, then now is the time.  However, the key is not only in the switch to a holistic cat food, but in switching to a moist natural cat food.   What is the difference?  The difference is that your cat gets its main source of water from the food he eats.  If he is only fed dry cat food, then he will become dehydrated that can worsen the urinary crystals.
Steps to Prevent Urinary Crystals in Cats

  1. Feed your cat a moist all natural healthy cat food, along with his dry food.  Dry food is essential for your cat’s dental health, while moist all natural cat food is essential for hydration.  Be sure to include wet cat food as 50% of your cat’s diet.
  2. Stay away from pet foods with high mineral content.  Urinary crystals form because of excess minerals; therefore, it is critical that you keep these foods away from your cat.  This is how a reputable all natural cat food can help you.  It will not contain these high concentrations of minerals.
  3. Your cat’s food should include a small amount of fish or beef broth, as well as high amounts of all natural protein.
  4. Eliminate fillers, food colorings, and synthetic products from your cat’s diet.  A reputable all natural healthy cat food will not contain the above, such as our Life’s Abundance canned cat food.
  5. If you choose to make homemade cat food, be sure to eliminate processed foods.  Only provide real meat and fish.  Do not include grains like rice and wheat.  This is not good for a cat’s digestive system.  If you are not sure what to feed your cat, it is best to stick to an all natural cat food that understands the nutrients your cat will need for optimum health.

Pet Food Café offers moist all natural cat food.   Try adding Life’s Abundance canned cat food to your cat’s diet and know that you are doing everything you can to prevent your cat from the pain of urinary crystals.
